The constituition guarantees the right to bear arms. Everyone therefore is allowed to 'lawfully' own a gun. "Guns don't kill people... People kill people." We've all heard this catchy phrase before, and you know what... it still applies. Whether the guns are attained legally or illegally the guns themselves don't cause any damage. Buying amunition for these guns is even easier than buying the guns. Should we monitor the amunition less than we monitor the guns? 

I believe there are far too many gun laws at the moment. Creating more gun laws will solve nothing. Criminals don't obey the laws anyway and still manage to come up with the guns. Creating more gun laws will only hurt those of us that are law abiding and will do nothing to deter the criminals. While I am truly mortified at the destruction of life that the events of the last week have caused, it was not the fault of the gun manufacturers, nor the sellers. It was the fault of the inividuals that obtained those guns and subsequently created the devastation. If someone is intent on causing harm to others the lack of a gun will not stop this. Rocks, chains, hammers, knives... the list is endless... can all be used to cause devastation. Shall we outlaw all of these objects too? I think not.

I repeat... "Guns don't kill people... People kill people."
